What’s the 511

511 N Broad · Philadelphia

Moving

Moving trucks are encouraged to use the Nectarine Street freight door and a reserved elevator. Plan that with building management through the Resident portal before move day so moving takes one elevator and the non-freight elevator is available for other residents.

Moving day on Nectarine Street: movers load a truck while neighbors and their dog wait beside the stainless freight elevator doors, set in a blank white brick wall with a blue dumpster and bollards to the left.

Book with building management first

  1. Request the freight elevator through the Resident portal with your date and hours before you book the truck.
  2. Use the Independent Service key in the elevator. It holds the car, stops hallway buttons, and opens the exterior door on Nectarine Street.
  3. Load through the freight door on Nectarine onto the truck. Keep the dumpster and recycling path clear.
  • Don’t assume same-day Independent Service.
  • Ask for a move window so the rest of the building keeps a passenger car.
  • Owners arrange the key through building management. Renters: landlord first, then the owner talks to management.
  • Return the key when you’re done. A car left on Independent Service strands everyone else.

Load from Nectarine Street

  • Use the exterior freight door on Nectarine — not the Broad Street lobby.
  • Don’t leave the truck or stacked boxes blocking the freight door, dumpster, or recycling bins.
  • Trades on the rehab use that same door. Leave them a path.

In the building

  • Don’t force or hold elevator doors by hand. That damages the sensors.
  • Ask building management about wall blankets for the elevator.
  • Carts live in the fire room. Use them at your own risk, go easy on doors and trim, and return them when you’re done. More on Living here.
  • Don’t stage mattresses, furniture, or a household in the corridor. Bulk items: Trash.
